Jim Sexton, Visionary CEO at Z-Line Designs Anticipated Demand from Trendy “Home-Nesters” with Affordable Line of Office Furniture and Entertainment Centers
September 22, 2009
San Ramon, Ca. – September 22, 2009 - September is National Home Furnishings Month and, with a cultural shift from house “flipping” to home “nesting”, families are refocusing their attention on how they can revitalize their living environment. Z-Line Designs’ furniture founder and CEO, Jim Sexton, recently attended the country’s leading home furnishings tradeshow at the World Market Center Las Vegas to gauge the level of the furniture industry’s recovery given the current economic situation.
Returning to his San Ramon, California office, he exclaimed, “The atmosphere at the Las Vegas Market was electric. Registration numbers were higher than they’ve been over the past five years and the buyers were definitely there to do business. Inventories are low and there is so much pent up demand that manufacturers like Z-Line, with new collections, innovative designs and affordable pricing, clearly have reason to be very optimistic as we head into 2010.”
Home office furniture and entertainment centers, the mainstay of Z-Line Designs’ inventory, are now considered vital components of the family residence and no longer luxury items. With more adults and their children working in a home office that might actually be located in the “family room” or a spare bedroom, the era of the huge executive desk suite with a multi-thousand dollar price tag is long gone. Industry experts predict the current trends celebrating home life and a penchant for “stay-cations” will encourage consumers to invest in compact, stylish, yet affordable home office furniture and home entertainment centers that are fashionable and sophisticated but don’t overwhelm the living environment.
Z-Line Designs is ideally positioned to capitalize on these societal changes. Anticipating the lap-top computer generation boom in 1995, Sexton had the foresight to enter the market early with a line of desks geared towards the laptop user and has since continuously upgraded and expanded his product line with innovative styling that fits the trend for smaller, lighter, high-quality home office furniture that won’t break the bank. Always on the look-out for the next “hot ticket” item, Sexton jumped on the flat screen TV bandwagon at its’ infancy and developed a line of sleek, state-of-the art TV stands, consoles and wall systems with integrated wire and cable management to complement today’s ever-changing technology products. “I’ve had a knack for picking things that people would buy,” noted Sexton. “And, I believed that ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture would be the wave of the future based on the attractive price points, easy installation and the superior quality of the materials used in our products.” Shown above is the Sync Hybrid Mount Flat Panel TV stand with contemporary black piano finish, 8mm tempered safety glass with black border and chrome glass supports. Sold at retail and online for approx. $449.00.
“It doesn’t matter whether you are from Generation X, Generation Y or Generation Empty Nest”, says Sexton. “Z-Line Designs offers a wide range of options for home office and entertainment furniture – all designed with the latest trends in mind and made of the highest quality materials. Our products won’t take up too much of your space or your money.
